Syrian Orthodox Church of the Virgin Mary Youth Organization As members of the current Youth Organization of the church of the Virgin Mary,we take great pride in being a part of our church's rich history. Started in the 1980'swith a passion and a vision to serve the church and keep our youth together for generations to come, the youth organization worked very hard to host meetings,events, and parties to retain our youth and increasingly involve them in church activities. They paved the way for the youth to come in later years to continue thishonorable tradition.           Over twenty years later, that very same passion and vision still live on inour church. The youth has been actively engaged with the Sunday school, Board of Trustees, and other organizations of the church, contributing to the overall success and cohesion of the congregation. Collaboration with the Board of Trusteesin June for our annual picnic and in November for our annual bazaar lets us gain the experience we need in coordinating events and lets us serve the Board in severalways. We also create revenue for the church by preparing and selling chocolates andbaskets to our children for Easter. The youth's involvement extends beyond our churchto the archdiocese level, helping SOAYO coordinate events to ensure that our entire community stays together and each one of our sister churches lives and interacts witheach other in harmony and unity.        As the youth organization, we host various get-togethers and parties throughoutthe year to retain our youth. We also host a weekly Bible study every Wednesdaynight at 8:30 pm, which is open to the youth of our sister churches as well. Upcoming events include our annual ski trip (date TBD), and our annual Christmas party (date TBD).
