Being True to Our Spirit

I was reading a story about a father who wanted to find out how smart his two sons are, and how well he raised them. He gave the same amount of money to both of them to fill a room. The one who filled more would succeed in understanding what he meant.

The first one had very big bags filled with sponges, and yet it was not enough to fill the room.
The other had nothing but five candles. He turned off the light and filled the room with the light of the candles. He succeeded in learning His father’s lessons.

Likewise, we learn in today’s reading how Jesus Christ told us how to be aware of the Pharisees and Sadducees. “Be careful,” Jesus said to them. “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” – Matthew 16:6.

The Pharisees appeared in history 200 years before Christ because the Roman kings declared to burn all records of the Old Testament. And the Pharisees memorized the complete Old Testament. But Jesus warned others about them, saying they teach something, and they do other things.

The Sadducees, meanwhile, were originally Pharisees and later changed their ways to not believe in the resurrection and the other life.

He warned of them, comparing them to leaven, the yeast, of the Sadducees and Pharisees. Why did Jesus use the word of yeast? Because yeast is enough to raise the bread dough – and could corrupt all of the bread if it was not good. These people were hypocrites, saying one thing and doing other things.

We have to understand we are responsible for the pure gospel, the pure teaching of the Bible. And we need to act in the same way. We are in charge to give the true teaching of our fathers, forefathers, the church and the Bible to our children. We have a responsibility to teach the truth and not allow false teachings to reach our kids.

The same way the Pharisees and Sadducees corrupted the people, as those who practice religion without spirit, we need to be the light of the world because we practice what is in our spirit.

it reminds me of a special quote – which goes this way: Some people will open the Bible and never read John 3:16, but they will watch the way you live, treat your family, do your job, and they will make their evaluation about God through you.

I pray that all of us can show our faith, and share our true faith with everybody, and tell others who is Jesus the savior who gave Himself on the cross to save you and me.

And Jesus is still waiting for those who did not yet decide yet to follow Him completely.
