From Father Andrew Bahhi: The Annunciation of the Virgin Mary

I ask Jesus to be with us and in our heart and among us this morning. This Sunday is the 4th Sunday of the church calendar, where we celebrate the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary. We usually celebrate this on March 25, 9th months before Christmas. We also read this now before Christmas for our spiritual journey as preparation for Christmas.

When we talk of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary, we talk of the good news sent from heaven by the angel Gabriel to share the good news with humans, by giving peace, rejoicing and blessings to the Virgin Mary.

Luke 1:26-38 details how the Holy Spirit inspired Luke the gospel to write these details, and we go over it without paying attention to these details. For example, he said at six months Gabriel comes. To the city of Galilee, town of Nazarene.

These details are very important for God. A lot of people think God does not think about their days, years and lives. Here we see about God’s small details, but this demonstrates things very important. This means God also cares about all the details in your life.

Most of the people who come to me for confession are hurt from inside because of the lack of love and caring in their lives. But you need to understand that even amid every single painful detail, God says “I care about you.”

You are more important than anything. Every night when you cry, or worry, or someone hurt you, all of these things people don’t know – but let me tell you something: Your Father knows you and what is your need. You just need to stretch out your hand and open your heart and he will heal you.

You are not just a person in the crowd. God does care about you because he died for you. Tell yourself “I am beloved.” Not because of what you have – remember Mary was very poor without a father and mother. In God’s eyes she was the mother of His only begotten son. What a blessing this is!

If you are feeling like nothing, let me tell you the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary is a good message for you. Say to yourself:

I am beloved
God cares for me.
God died for me.
God loves me in a very unique way, like I am the only one on this earth!

I read in Isaiah. When the Holy Spirit inspired him in chapters 45 and 43, “I know you and by your name you are mine.”
Do you believe he is with you? He is in your heart. Just open your heart and make His Holy Spirit shine to see how important and beloved you are in his eyes.
