How to Follow the Way of Jesus

When we speak about Jesus, we speak of good things. But when you test yourself through a hard time in your life, or you are not walking according to His word, no matter what you do or what you think, He is thinking of you.

We see this in the story of the young man in the Book of Luke chapter 18

There was a young man, a ruler. He had a good social position among his people, and he was a rich young man. He showed Jesus all kinds of respect and honor, and love. And he called him “Good Teacher,” and asked, “what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

This is the most important question for all of us. We need to ask ourselves this each morning when we wake and each evening when we go to sleep.

The man then said, I memorized all the good things including the commandments, and Jesus replied, “You still lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”

But when he heard this, the man became very sorrowful, for he was very rich.

And he went his own way.

Open your heart to the grace of God. You must change your life to one of repentance. If you don’t live a life of repentance, your way will be different from the way of Jesus, which is the way to eternal life.

If we want to follow Jesus Christ, we have to renew our mind and our heart. Live a life of repentance. Selling everything in your life means Jesus wants you to live free from the sin, free from the love of position, the desires of this world. Because your earthly desire will lead you to a bad end.

And when you follow Jesus, you will build up a treasure in heaven.

To follow Jesus is to follow his commandments. And when we follow His cross, it means we should always be ready to follow him. In all the circumstances of life, we should carry the cross. The best time for the believer is when they have trouble in their lives, because this is time they test Jesus more than any other time in their lives.

Jesus told the rich man. I want you to follow me from all your heart.

If we want to live a life of keeping the commandments, the only way is to follow Jesus. Jesus said I am the light of the world, and you shall not walk in darkness.

He wanted to tell the man “I want you to follow me from all your heart. Not only now from your mouth, but your heart.”

David said in Psalm 119 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” And Jesus told the same to this man, “Do you really want to inherit the kingdom of God?” The answer is the same now, 2000 years later, and until the 2nd coming of God.

Because his way is the way and the light and the life resurrection.

If you want to leave the church today with a big smile and happiness, good comfort with the kingdom of God, then the only way is to choose Jesus Christ the savior of your life.
