The Lord Will Satisfy You – By Father Andrew Bahhi

The Lord was talking about how much people should be careful of the teaching from the Pharisees, and the people spoke of their lack of bread. Then, the Lord said in Matthew 16:8, “O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread?”

“Do you not remember or understand the five loaves or five thousand, and how many baskets you took up.”

The Lord brought to their attention the blessings in their lives.  This is a personal message to all of us.

Why is this a personal message? We all go through hard times, have needs, struggle, and feel like in certain areas of our lives, the door is closed. But the Lord is speaking to all of us, “Is God able to give the needy ones all their needs, or answer all their questions?”

This question gives us a hard time, especially when we are struggling. It is hard to talk about it. Sometimes it is emotional, financial, social, or family problems. And people say, “When I have this trouble in my life and don’t receive on my prayers, my hands are empty.”

What can you say to those who feel they are not blessed in life?

And the hardest to understand of them all, the people with all the blessings, they feel they are not blessed. Those people underestimate themselves.

Do you know there are people without legs who survive and still smile? Do you know there are people who cannot put food on the table for their families? Do you know there are people who suffer from diseases 24/7? Believe me, I meet people sick people who say “Abouna, I wish to die every single second. Because the pain is always on.”

And then there are the people who do not have a certain kind of car, a certain area to buy a house, or a certain place to vacation. “If I don’t do it, I will be depressed,” they say. This is what makes our relationship with God even harder.

I want you to remember something, dear brothers and sisters. God is love. God cares. God is able and mighty. God knows what you are going through. God has good will for you. This is all said in the Bible.

The problem is not that Good is good. It is that people do not believe that God is good, and he does good things in our lives.

If God will talk to me, I will say “yes Lord,” and I want to obey. We always go to God with our agenda, and if we don’t get something, then He is not answering, we say.

God is answering. God is talking. But we are not always there for him when He talks with us.

With our families in the middle east. People go 4-5 months without running water, or power.

Do we really want to hear what he says? God is always good to me, and He always gives me a good experience or testimony. And yet, I can still forget if He does not give me one single thing.

The Bible speaks of God’s people in the wilderness for 40 years, and yet He gave them food every single day. Can you imagine how much God cares for His people?

Let me tell you, the doubts about the God come from the evil one. David says even “the young lions lack and suffer from hunger.” But those who seek the Lord will not lack any good things.

David, in Psalm 37, “I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteousness forsaken or his children begging for break.”

Lord will always be taking care of you.

The biggest gift or grace is God gave to every one of us is when He died on the cross. When He laid on the cross to save you and to save me. We are all called to experience the mercies and graces of God.

God is able to make grace abundant to all. In Philippians 4:19, Paul said “God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

And God is so rich in His glory.

Hold the Lord and He will satisfy you. He will meet your needs. He will answer all your questions, and not allow the evil one destroy your faith and make you a little person in faith.
