Transform Your Life for Jesus – From Father Andrew Bahhi

Because we have grown up in a Christian family, we sometimes take the word of God and salvation for granted. That means we hear the word that changed the life for many people, hear of miracles, and read the word of the Gospels and yet we don’t have true happiness in our life.

This is the Sunday of Nicodemus, which we read about in John 3. A man supposedly was a man of God, elderly, and he was one of the wise men of the community and yet he was looking for the truth. So, this man goes to Jesus at night. He was living in darkness. We all remember in the same gospel of John, when the Lord Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.”

This sermon is for every one of you. If you still live in darkness, or you have some darkness in your life, the answer is in this passage. Come to Jesus who is the light of the world.

We all look to have a good life. In all aspects, financially, educational, social, and we also must focus on our spiritual life. Or to have true change in our life to transform every one of us to be like St. Paul who said, “we are being transformed into the same image of Jesus Christ.”

This rule must be to transform us from the darkness, the life with no power, to light that has a power, true change, comfort and peace. That’s why seeking after change or renewed vision should be a sign for every single Christian. This is the spirit of the life, and as the Bible says a renewed vision.

We have to have zeal in life or emotion to tell God “I am bored to death the way I live and want to follow you. I want to have change in my life. I want to have a truly new vision in my heart. Not only from the outside, but also inside because the outside is only the flesh.

We need to cry with David the King in Psalm 51, “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” He said give me a new spirit.

When Jesus was talking to Nicodemus, he called him a very unique name “Rabbi” – for their culture, not everyone could be a rabbi. Only people who can be special in their spiritual life or teaching are called rabbi. So, this reflects a big need in the heart of Nicodemus.

What is born from flesh is flesh, and what is born of the spirit is the spirit. Jesus said you can be from the most holy family, but if you are not born from the spirit you are not a Christian. Whatever you are on the outside is not going to deliver you to the eternal life.

We have the stop jumping between the world and God.

That’s why we have to hear and to follow what the Bible says in Romans 12:2: “And do not be conformed to be this world. Do not be like this world. But be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

All the desires I have pull me down to the earth. But if I open my heart to Jesus, then you will have this power that will transform you from the old nature to the new nature to become the true Christian in your life.

We need to reconnect with God. So we can receive His spirit, power, love and grace that will make us abide in Him, and be changed from inside.
