When God Has a Plan, Nobody Can Change It

This week has been a big blessing because we got to celebrate His birth on Christmas eve and Christmas Day, with two Holy Liturgies at church, so we thank our heavenly father for all His blessings.

This is the first Sunday after Christmas, where we celebrate the martyrdom, described in Matthew 2, when Herod learned the king was born in Bethlehem. And out of his jealousy, King Herod was angry to kill all the kids in Bethlehem from 2 years of age and under.

But meanwhile we see how our heavenly father works in amazing ways. Because that unjust king was crazy with a phobia because he killed more than half of his family, including 2 sons, wife and brother-in-law. Because he was scared someone would kill him and take his place to be king.

After the birth of Jesus, and with a dream brought by God, Joseph was inspired to take Jesus and his mother to flee to safety. And Joseph then had another dream to come back after Herod died. We can see how the plan of God unfolded.

Likewise, God has a plan for every and each one of us. When Jesus preached the gospel, twice the Jews tried to get Jesus killed. Once they took him to the edge of a cliff, but then the Bible said everyone was calm and Jesus calmly left the edge. People tried to change the plan of salvation, but they were unsuccessful.

In the Bible, Romans 8:33, it says: “Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.” When God has a plan, nobody can change it. Herod tried it and died.

The Holy people were very normal. They had nothing extra. They only wanted to be loyal followers of Jesus. And, because of that, they set apart their heart and their mind, in their life so they become holy people and they became saints. And you also are called to be a saint. This is what the Bible says, everybody is called to be a saint.

No matter what the world says to you, if your life is dedicated and you are really following Jesus, God always has a different plan than the world’s plan. No need, sickness, or problem is above it. Especially this year. God is in control, no matter how we think, or how we feel about it.

If God is in control, why do all these bad things happen? What happens has a message for all of us. We’ve become very arrogant and prideful to believe the science can do everything, or our money can buy us whatever we want, or we to a gym and never die, or with our educational degree we can do whatever we want and go wherever we want. But all these things were destroyed by a small virus called corona.

But for those who believe in God, this virus was a blessed opportunity to know their weakness and believe Jesus as the King of the Kings.

So, this year, as bad as it was, is a lesson to still go to God and follow Him.

Since you have the opportunity, please open your hand and heart to forgive everybody and love everybody. And don’t underestimate yourself, because God created each and every one of us to be a light in this world.
